Sermon Assistant ("the app," "we," "us") is operated by For Worth Dying Inc.
This policy explains what data the app and our hosted services handle, and what we deliberately
do not collect. We built this for our own church first, and we've kept data collection to
the minimum needed to run the product.
What we collect
Account & billing. Your subscription is processed by Stripe.
Stripe handles your card details directly — we never see or store full card numbers.
We receive your email address, plan (Basic/Pro), and subscription status so we can issue and
manage your license.
License token. A unique key tied to your subscription, used to turn on the
features you've paid for.
AI feature usage (Pro). When you use Pro AI features (word studies, topical
search), requests pass through our hosted proxy. We log only a token identifier and
token counts for billing and capacity — never the content of your sermons,
your searches, or the AI responses.
What stays on your computer (we never receive it)
Sermon audio & transcripts. Audio is processed in real time for
transcription and is not recorded or stored on our servers. If you enable
premium transcription it streams to Deepgram for live conversion; otherwise your browser's
built-in speech is used. We keep no copy of what is preached.
Your api.bible key. If you connect your own api.bible key for premium Bible
translations, it is stored locally in the app on your machine. We do not
transmit or store it on our servers.
App settings & queue. Your translation choices, ProPresenter connection,
and slide queue live on your computer.
Service providers we use
We rely on a small set of processors, each only for its stated purpose:
Anthropic — powers Pro AI features (via our proxy; no sermon content stored).
Deepgram — optional live transcription, only if you enable it.
Resend — delivering your license key and account emails.
Render & Netlify — hosting our proxy and website.
API.Bible — your own account, under your own key, for premium
translations. Their handling of your account is governed by
their terms.
What we don't do
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
We do not run advertising or share your data with advertisers.
We do not store the content of your sermons.
Data retention
We keep your account and billing records while your subscription is active and for as long as
needed for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. Aggregate usage counts are retained for capacity
planning. You can ask us to delete your account data after you cancel (subject to records we're
required to keep).
Your choices
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing portal or by contacting us. To
request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, email us at the address below.
Children
The app is a tool for churches and ministries and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If we update this policy we'll revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify
active subscribers by email.
